The Kolbus KM 470 is a robust perfect binder designed for professional bookbinding operations. This machine integrates a comprehensive gathering system, specifically a ZU gathering machine with 18 stations and a hand feeding station, allowing for efficient collation of book blocks. The KM 470 perfect binder itself features 25 clamps, ensuring secure handling of book blocks during the binding process. It is equipped with a milling station for precise spine preparation, followed by hotmelt spine and side gluing stations for strong, durable binding. The Stream Cover Feeder automates cover application, while the nipping and pressing station guarantees a tight, professional finish. The machine also includes a lay down device for smooth transfer of book blocks, though it does not have drying conveyors. Finally, the Kolbus OMG stacker organizes the finished products for easy handling. Manufactured in 1992, this system is currently operational in a printshop in Germany and is capable of processing book blocks up to 310 x 390 x 60 mm in size.
