Kohler KRM 18.180/19 Precision Strip Straightening Machine with Double Decoiler

Kohler Richttechnik precision roller straightening machine with a double decoiler, built in West Germany in 1990. The line is designed for straightening narrow steel strip, such as bandsaw blade material, and runs from left to right at up to 60 m/min. Strip speed is controlled automatically by a light curtain (loop control), so the decoiler and straightener stay synchronised.

The straightener has 19 rolls of 18 mm diameter. Both roll stands are adjusted by motor, and a Kohler digital measuring unit with a keypad allows exact, repeatable roll positioning. The operator panel includes decoiler forward, reverse and stop, a speed potentiometer, key switches to open and close the straightening rolls, oil level control, motor temperature monitoring, and setup and automatic modes.
