Beer has been brewed at Wertachbrucker Tor since 1582, and the brewing tradition has been carried on by the Kuhnle family for four generations since 1875. The company produces classic beer varieties as well as unique specialty beers, such as Helles, Dunkles, unfiltered wheat beer, alcohol-free beer, and other special brews. Regional ingredients, its own well for brewing water, and artisanal production methods are used. In addition to bottled and draft beer, the brewery offers direct onsite sales as well as a brewhouse and taproom in Augsburg.
