A high-performance machine for series production: the horizontal Gleason-Pfauter P 210 L, built in 2003, mills shafts, pinion shafts, and small gears up to module 4 and 180 mm in diameter at speeds of up to 4,000 rpm on the cutter and 1,000 rpm on the workpiece – designed for short cycle times and dry machining. The horizontal design makes the P 210 L ideal for shaft machining: workpieces up to 830 mm are clamped between the spindle and tailstock, with 300 mm of axial travel and 100 mm of radial travel (center distance 30–130 mm). The milling head pivots by ±40°, and the tangential travel of 160 mm utilizes the full cutter length of 170 mm for long tool life. The high workpiece speed allows for multi-tooth hobbing cutters and thus the cutting performance required in the gearbox and automotive component supply sector. The machine is prepared for connection to a loading portal or a robot.

The machine will be delivered with a new Siemens Sinumerik ONE control system and Sinamics S120 drives in an air-conditioned control cabinet manufactured in-house. The user-friendly interface makes setup and programming possible without in-depth G-code knowledge. Geometry acceptance is carried out according to the manufacturer's standard or DIN with a protocol. The scope of delivery also includes the complete machine enclosure with state-of-the-art safety technology, a new coat of paint in RAL 5015/7035, a magnetic chip conveyor, circulation and loss lubrication, a hydraulic unit, a coolant system, and the operating manual.
