A vacuum pump, directly connected to the inner chamber of a filter drum, draws the medium into the drum's interior. Contaminant particles are retained on the filter drum’s surface by a fine mesh. The vacuum level increases due to the resistance of the accumulating filter cake. Upon reaching an adjustable vacuum threshold, drum cleaning is performed automatically. An installed scraper chain transports the sludge out.
